The Challenge
Laboratory equipment is not sold at a listed price. Buyers specify, request a quote and negotiate. The catalogue ran into thousands of SKUs, the existing CRM was not up for replacement, and every web enquiry was being re-typed into it by hand.
Solution
We defined the product taxonomy first, then kept WooCommerce for its product model and replaced the cart with a quote request flow. Their CRM had no WooCommerce connector, so we wrote a custom PHP plugin that syncs products, contacts and quotes through webhooks and the REST API.
Results
More than 7,900 products loaded across six categories with a multilingual setup, and quote requests landing in the CRM with no manual data entry. These figures describe delivered scope, not measured business outcomes.
